While land clearing, the crawler loader operator drove too close to the edge of a 45 degree slope. When the soft ground began to give way, he tried to back up and the loader rolled onto its left side. The operator, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, tried to jump clear but was pinned between the ROPS canopy and the ground.


SAFE WORK PRACTICE
EMPLOYERS:
You should ensure that workers receive proper direction and instruction in the safe performance of their duties. You must provide written safe work procedures that should include the safe operation of machinery and the proper use of safety equipment. Work procedures must be monitored and enforced.
